TikTok & Diet Culture
I am honored to be a recipient of the Brackenridge Fellowship, a prestigious award from the University of Pittsburgh’s Honors College. During the summer of 2024, I explored diet culture’s existence in American mass media from the early twentieth century to the present day. I also studied how the TikTok “What I Eat In A Day” trend perpetuates long-standing trends of diet culture from the past while introducing new patterns that are unique to the digital age. My research has now been published in the Pittsburgh Undergraduate Review!
